Sioux Falls Letter
Whew! We made it across the prairie, all the way through Minnesota safe
and sound thanks to our ever efficient driver, Jim.
We passed through the formerly flooded highways near the Dells and are
so grateful the water levels receded so we could make it through with no
detours! Across the Mississippi River and to the really scenic welcome
center for some quick leg stretching. Back to our movie and stopped for
lunch at a breezy rest area. Thank goodness the sun was shining! Nap
time and continuing with our movie watching as we passed through farm
fields and windmills. Now how come even though it was soooo windy, the
blades weren't spinning? Any engineers out there to fill us in?
Another leg stretching fast stop and then out of Minnesota and into
South Dakota and our warm welcome reception at East Side Lutheran
Church.
The kids got off the bus and sounded out the acoustics in the sanctuary
- a newly redesigned beautiful space - and then into a delicious sloppy
joe supper with yummy desserts! We had lots of time to unwind, hang out
and relax. Then got dressed, out for a photo and back in for last
minute Margaret instructions.
Concert was lots of fun! First one out of the box and good time to work
out a few kinks. Begin with We Are as the kids processed onto the
chancel. The audience of our hosts was so kind and appreciative - nice
to have our new good friends here in Sioux Falls.
All kids were collected at the bus and off for fun. Again, WHEW! We
will be sleeping well tonight!
