Letter from Minneapolis
POSTCARD FROM MINNEAPOLIS - JUNE 21, 2008

We're all together now all day having met up at Bill and Laura's house
with the bus. Seeing that big Badger coach at the curb of our house was
quite a sight!

Another gorgeous day, weather-wise. Captain Jim drove us down to within
one block of where we took a walk across the 10th Avenue bridge in
Minneapolis, about 50 yards from the construction of the new interstate
35W bridge. While most of the bridge supports are all up, it is obvious
the significance and impact the collapsed bridge has had on the
community. A large section of the bridge is still wide open, although
it won't be long before all of the poured concrete segments are in
place. It is expected the bridge will be completed this fall, a great
relief to all the traffic congestion in the Twin Cities.

Back on the bus and off to our day-long destination: MALL OF AMERICA!
As if shot out of a cannon, all kids dispersed to spend, spend, spend.
We had a couple of meeting times pre-arranged where we touched base, and
then checked in at the hotel, dropped off their purchases eager indeed
to return to MOA for more shopping, shopping, shopping! Set up was
another meeting time for dinner, with a choice of either Famous Dave's
or Ruby Tuesday's and then to the hotel for swimming and talking and
trying on all the new purchases. 10:00 deadline to be back in their own
rooms for last night of sleep on Tour 2008
.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (at least I'LL be sleeping!).

Til next time,

Sue
