POSTCARD FROM CLEVELAND
P.S. to yesterday's postcard from Syracuse: At Trinity Episcopal in
Portland, they were setting up for a huge rummage sale.....uh......Chris
Sarbacker and I are bringing home souveniers.......her husband needs to
bring his trailer.......mine needs to bring an extra car......but we did
manage to condense all the under-bus storage and repacked very efficiently!
Guess our souveniers are indeed special!
June 22, 2003
Our very busy day began with breakfast at the hotel then on the bus heading
to Cleveland.
Stopped for lunch at McDonald's and Subway and then back on the bus directly
to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Beautiful, architecturally
interesting building right on the waterfront. Downtown Cleveland is lovely
and very inviting. The Hall of Fame is really large with tons of items on
display including hand-written lyrics and music and lots of costumes,
outfits, shoes, instruments and even some postcards John Lennon had sent to
his son Julian. There were some movies which detailed the evolution from
folk songs to rock.
After the hall of fame, we ate supper at the Hard Rock Café. That was loads
of fun for our last dinner together. Off to our hotel where the kids are
having a blast in the pool. Beautiful final full day of fun.
The tour's been a really rewarding trip for all. Your kids continue to grow
in many areas, including some accountability and responsibility and maybe
how to clean the bus???!!!
Tomorrow will be a long one in the bus......we look forward to pulling into
BETHANY and plan on giving you a call when we're about an hour out.
See you
then!
