Home Again Postcard

Well, families, it's been a grand tour, all 4,978 miles, and all was exceptional: singing, scenery, scary stops (like the suspension bridge!)......We had a wonderful time exploring the great world out there and as chaperones and adults, we had a marvelous time watching the kids take care of themselves (with a little prodding), getting to know other kids in choir they normally would not be chums with, act responsibly with time and possessions, respect the places we visited, and the learning and enjoying the socialization with our hosts at every stop. This is our tenth tour. I never fail to be amazed with the growth in personal confidence and musical abilities the kids acquire in their time away from home and those things that are comfortable to us in everyday life. I'm sure that, after a couple of good nights' sleep, you, too, will notice some subtle changes and appreciate all they experienced with their choir family.

I can't thank the hosts we had in every city enough for their generosity and their hard work in organizing our stops. Again, I never fail to be amazed with their openness on our behalf.

Margaret really worked hard in preparing the choristers for their wonderful performances and it was evident they are better musicians because of her dedication to excellence and challenge.

Monica, too, had a growth experience traveling with us and we appreciate her help, preparation and work.

Chris Thorn and Chris Sarbacker and I are a great team to travel together - we seem to manage to keep a chuckle in our cheeks even when we'd rather not be laughing!

I hope these postcards have been helpful to you to share some of our experiences (yes, I know, I had kids too - information not always so forthcoming).

So, there will be a final photo on our Tour 2010 web site - we're planning for 2011 already! Save the dates: June 16-26!!

Til then, SUE
